42.Renji Abarai recovers from his wounds and as he is locked in his cell, his sword Zabimaru talked to him how it wants to fight again with Ichigo’s Zangetsu but Renji argued that they are no longer enemies with Ichigo. Back at the Shrine of Penitence, Yoruichi is tasked to escape with Ichigo while Byakuya is on their way. They were able to escape due to Yoruichi’s flash moves that even Byakuya was not able to catch up but they were not able to save Rukia. Ichigo regained his consciousness and Yoruichi started to teach him how to use the Bankai which is the final release of the sword. It is important for Ichigo to learn this technique in order to fight against Captain Level Soul Reapers. Uryu and Orihime tried using Soul Reaper clothes as a disguise to get near to Rukia but the 12th Division Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi is already watching them.


43.Uryu and Orihime continued to go towards Rukia’s location but were confronted already by the 12th Division Captain Mayuri. Members of the 12th Division squad showed up but they were used by their Captain as bombs and detonated them without remorse. Orihime used her power to protect Uryu and herself causing Mayuri to become more curious about her powers. Uryu tries to fight Mayuri but got held down by Nemu Kurotsuchi who is the daughter and lieutenant of Captain Mayuri. Mayuri then used his ability to paralyze Uryu and confessed that he had experimented on many Quincys before and was the one responsible for the death of Uryu’s grandfather.


44.Uryu was enraged about what Mayuri has told him and used a technique Ransotengai to be able to move. Mayuri used his Bankai which is the final release of his sword and his sword changed its form into something bigger and much more powerful. Uryu doesn’t back down instead he used a forbidden technique.by the Quincys to end the fight. Uryu removes his gloves that controls and limits the power that he releases even knowing that if he uses that technique he may lose his Quincy powers forever. He was able to use the technique and it created a powerful blast that destroyed even Captain Mayuri’s bankai but Captain Mayuri changed into a liquid form and escaped in the sewers. Uryu is still weakened by using the technique but they continued to move forward but bad things come after another. They were found by the 7th Division Captain Kaname Tosen.


45.Captain Tosen acted immediately to disable Uryu who is already unable to fight and had Uryu and Orihime imprisoned. Ichigo then continues his training to attain his sword’s final release which is the Bankai. Yoruichi used Tenshintai which is another invention of Kirahara that will give form to Zangetsu. Zangetsu took form and challenged Ichigo to defeat him for Ichigo to take his power but the consequence is if Ichigo fails then he will die. On the other side, Hanataro was punished by his Captain Retsu Unohana for helping the intruders. Renji then breaks out of his imprisonment while Kenpachi Zaraki makes a deal to help Orihime find Ichigo only to fight Ichigo again.


46.During imprisonment, Lieutenant Momo Hinamori recalls their training at the Soul Reaper Academy. She was friends with Renji and Izuru and they were on a training mission to hunt and kill hollows. They encountered a strong hollow that they cannot defeat and they were saved by Captain Sosuke Aizen and Gin Ichimaru who was just a lieutenant before. Hinamori thought of something and decided to escape, she knocked down her guard and took off to get revenge for her Captain.


47.Ichigo is doing his training in a hidden location that looks like a cave. Yoruichi stopped Ichigo’s traning for the day and told Ichigo that the training is progressing well. She also told Ichigo that Kisuke Urahara was a former Captain. During the time of Urahara’s leadership in the 12th Division he created the Technica Research Bureau where he got to research on almost everything. On the other side, Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya talked to Captain Ichimaru Gin and Lieutenant Kira about Captain Aizen’s murder but he was attacked by Hinamori. Hinamori thinks that it is Hitsugaya that killed Captain Aizen and Hitsugaya knocked Hinamori unconscious. Hitsugaya was enraged and prepares to kill Captain Ichimaru Gin who always has a big smile on his face.


48.The battle between two captains Hitsugaya and Ichimaru commences. Ichimaru lead the fight using his swordplay but Hitsugaya used the first release of his sword Shikai to gain advantage. Hitsugaya was able to freeze Ichimaru’s arm then Ichimaru was forced to use his Shikai to fight back. Ichimaru viciously threatened to attack the unconscious Hinamori with his sword but Lieutenant Rangiku Matsumoto arrived and stopped the fight. Captain Ichimaru withdrew from the fight as he is a friend of Rangiku yet nobody knows about it. Back at the training ground, Renji arrived and delivered the bad news that Rukia’s execution has been moved to the next day.


49.Rukia reminisce about the past as her execution comes close. She remembers the way her life goes as a member of the 13 Division Squads and how she was taken into the Kuchiki Clan. A lot of her fellow students in the Soul Reaper Academy did not like her because of the adoption as the Kuchiki Clan is a prestigious clan. She was able to make friends though, especially in the character of Kaien Shiba, the brother of Ganju Shiba. There happened an incident where a hollow take over a Soul Reaper’s body and Kaien was one of its victims. Kaien tried to fight and take control of his body at the last minute and impalted himself and the hollow inside him using Rukia’s sword. Rukia did not intend to kill Kaien and feels cowardly about it but as her sword carries the blood of Kaien Shiba she feels responsible for his death.


50.Another filler episode right before the big fight to save Rukia begins. Kon ran away from Yuzu hoping to find good looking girls but he came across Don Kanonji. Don Kanonji was troubled about how he can revive his tv shows as the tv ratings fell. He then thought of an idea to bring back the Karakura Town Superheroes. Kon agreed to Don Kanonji’s request and played the role of Karakura town King whie Yuzu plays Karakura Yellow. An episode that is full of fun and comedy right before things get serious and battle commences.


51.The day of execution has arrived and the tension has built up all over the place. Kenpachi together with his subordinates and Orihime travels to the execution ground hoping that they can find Ichigo and Kenpachi can have another fight with him but they crossed paths with Captain Sajin Komamura and Captain Tosen. The 2 Captains did not like what Kenpachi was doing and confronted him leading to a big Captain level battle. The lieutenants cannot help themselves but follow the lead of their captains. At the training ground, Renji was able to harness the final release of his sword which is the Bankai but Ichigo still has not. Yoruichi though is confident that Ichigo can do it as well.


52.Renji with his new found power travels ahead of Ichigo to the execution ground and on the way there he meets his Captain. Renji blames his Captain Byakuya for not trying to protect Rukia and challenges him to a fight. Renji was forced to use his Bankai to defeat Captain Byakuya but their difference is still way too far. Renji who just harnessed his Bankai tried his best forcing Captain Byakuya to use his Bankai as well. Captain Byakuya’s attack was so strong that it broke Renji’s Bankai and wounded Renji at the same time. Renji out of desperation did his last attack with his Zanpakuto and it reached Captain Byakuya. Captain Byakuya congratulates Renji for his improvement and tenacity as Renji fell to the ground heavily wounded.


53.As Rukia is being transferred to the execution ground from the Shrine of Penitence she came across Captain Gin Ichimaru. Captain Ichimaru just played with Rukia’s feelings offering help at first but he really did not mean it. Rukia’s resolve was shattered by Captain Ichimaru for no reason. Captain Tosen released his Bankai that takes away an opponent’s sense of sight and hearing. Captain Kenpachi has managed to fight even without his sight and hearing senses defeating Captain Tosen. Captain Tosen cannot accept defeat and still ran after Captain Kenpachi. Kenpachi decided to kill Captain Tosen but Captain Komamura interfered and block the attack with his helmet. Komamura’s appearance was revealed as a beast but Kenpachi did not even flinch rather he feels more excited. Rukia is already at the execution ground together with all the other captains waiting for the time of execution.


54.Rukia accepted her faith that she will be executed and killed for her actions and she made a death wish that Ichigo and her friends be sent back home. The execution will be carried out using Sokyoku, it is a massive ceremonial halberd that transforms into a scorching phoenix. It was said that it has already taken the souls of thousand Soul Reapers who have broken the rules of Soul Society. The phoenix took flight approaching Rukia but Ichigo blocked the Sokyoku that has a power equal to a million soul reapers. The Sokyoku backed a bit for a second attack and the 2 Captains Captain Kyoraku and Captain Ukitake used an attack to destroy the Sokyoku. They were able to do it and Ichigo took down the Sokyoku Stand causing chaos all over the place. Renji grabbed Rukia and ran away as Ichigo covers for them and face the chasing Soul Reapers Ichigo took down 3 Lieutenants without even using his sword and then faces Captain Byakuya once again.


55.Byakuya and Ichigo’s fight commences as Byakuya swears to execute Rukia himself. The place is in chaos as the 2 Captains seem to have rebelled against the 13 Division Squads by destroying the Sokyoku. The wounded were healed by Captain Unohana Retsu but she left right away going to another place. The 2 Captains who rebelled, Captain Ukitake and Captain Kyoraku ran to a far location to face the Captain Commander. They know that if they fight the Captain Commander and there are people around them there will be a lot of casualties. The Captain Commander Yamamoto caught up to them and is furious about what happened to his former students and his current Captains. The Captain Commander activated his sword burning down the surrounding lands with his power.


56.The battle between the Captain Commander and the 2 Captains continue and they were forced to release their swords though they want not to as they want to reason with the Captain Commander. Yoruichi faces her previous student in a battle. Yoruichi was the Captain of the 2nd Division before and left without giving any reason to anyone. Soi Fon took over the Division and became the 2nd Division Squad Captain as the position is left vacant. Soi Fon has been the Captain since and she still holds a grudge against Yoruichi for just running away. The fight was almost even until Soi Fon released her Shikai and being at an advantage she tried using a technique that she developed. Captain Soi Fon was surprised that Yoruichi activates the same exact technique and even naming it as Shunko. Yoruichi defeated Soi Fon in a fierce battle of speed.


57.Soi Fon remembers her past with Yoruichi, she was Yoruichi’s personal guard then but Yoruichi treated her kindly and taught her many things. She was very faithful to Yoruichi until she was left alone; she then felt betrayed and worked hard to become a Captain. Soi Fon continuously attack Yoruichi but all the attacks were blocked as Yoruichi uses shunko. During the fight Soi Fon broke down in tears asking why Yoruichi left her and why Yoruichi did not take her along. On the other side, Lieutenant Ikkaku and Lieutenant Iba are fighting for rice wine near the execution site. Ichigo and Byakuya’s battle becomes more heated as Ichigo used a new technique Getsuga Tensho to break Byakuya’s Shikai. Ichigo challenges Byakuya to use his Bankai to continue their death match.


58.Byakuya unleashed his Bankai which is Senbonzakura Kageyoshi that creates a million of tiny blades to answer Ichigo’s challenge. Ichigo then also used his Bankai that changed his Soul Reaper clothes and his sword. Ichigo’s Bankai gives him extraordinary speed to evade the million tiny blades and he was even able to cut through it and stab Byakuya with his sword. On the other side, Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya travelled to the Central 46 Chambers which is the Highest Authority in Soul Society to investigate.


59.Byakuya used another form of his Bankai where Ichigo got trapped in a closed area created by Byakuya;s sword. Ichigo continues to fight but the burden on his body by his Bankai is something that he is not yet used to and he’s becoming weaker and weaker as time passes. Ichigo’s inner Hollow saw the chance and tried to take over Ichigo’s body but Ichigo was able to regain control. Ichigo and Byakuya focused their Spiritual energy in a final clash of swords where Ichigo won. Byakuya told Ichigo that he values the law more than he values Rukia’s life but he already got convinced that the execution should not be carried out. Captain Toshiro and his lieutenant arrived at the Central 46 Chambers only to find a shocking truth.


60.Captain Hitsugaya and Matsumoto entered the Central 46 Chambers and found out that all the members were killed. Then they saw Kira entered the location and told them that Captain Ichimaru met with Hinamori and that Hinamori is inside as well. Hinamori saw her Captain well and alive, she came after her captain but she was stabbed by Sosuke Aizen. Just as Captain Aizen and his group intend to leave Captain Toshiro arrived and saw that Hinamori was hurt. Captain Toshiro was enraged and attacked Captain Aizen, Toshiro used his Bankai right away but he was easily defeated by Aizen. Captain Unohana Retsu then shows up and denounced that Aizen was the traitor. Aizen then declared that all the Soul Reapers are under his power, using his swords Hypnotic ability except for Captain Tosen who is blind.


61.Captain Unohana Retsu ordered her Lieutenant to spread the information that Aizen is alive and is plotting something. Aizen and his group left the chamber and went to the execution site to meet with Captain Tosen who is tasked to take Rukia and Renji. Aizen arrived at the location and as they planned Rukia and Renji was brought there. Aizen told Renji to leave Rukia but Renji insisted and tried fighting Aizen. Ichigo came right after and he fought together with Renji but they were no match for Captain Aizen. Captain Aizen then started to reveal his intentions and reasons why he betrayed Soul Society but he was interrupted by Captain Komamura.


62.Captain Aizen was attacked by Captain Komamura and Aizen defeated Komamura easily without even using his sword. Aizen used an extremely strong Kido Spell, spell that Soul Reapers can use after reciting some incantations or chants. Captain Aizen then continued his plot and extracted an orb that is placed inside Rukia. The Orb of Distortion that Kisuke Urahara created possesses the ability to allow Soul Reapers to harness hollow like powers. After extracting the Orb, Aizen ordered Ichimaru to kill Rukia but Byakuya got in the way and saved Rukia. The members of the 13 Court Squads arrived and tried to restrain the traitors Captain Aizen, Captain Ichimaru and Captain Tosen. They were not able to do so as a light came down to them from the hollows taking them to Hueco Mundo, the place where Hollows reside. A few days later Byakuya woke up and he then confessed to Rukia about the truth that he married Rukia’s sister Hisana. Hisana died and his last wish is for Byakuya to take care of her little sister. Byakuya broke their clan’s rules in doing so and he promised to abide the rules moving forward whatever the circumstance is.


63.The episode contains a clip show that just recalls the previous events that happened. At the latter part Ichigo and his friends were treated then as allies of Soul Society rather than intruders. Ichigo and his friends came back safely to the Human World. Rukia is fine even though the orb was extracted from inside her body and she decided that she will stay at Soul Society for the time being.
